Raymond J. German

Raymond J. German practices Real Estate law in North Dakota and Minnesota and is a MSBA Board Certified Real Estate Specialist. He is a licensed Title Insurance agent in Minnesota and North Dakota for Commonwealth Land Title and Stewart Title Guaranty Company. He is a licensed Minnesota and North Dakota Abstracter and does insured Real Estate closings.

Mr. German also concentrates in the areas of: Estate Planning, Probate, Business, and Personal Injury.

Mr. German is a 1973 graduate of the University of North Dakota School of Law. Since August of 1973, he has been involved in the private practice of law. He has been admitted to practice in the State and Federal courts of North Dakota and Minnesota. He represents plaintiffs and defendants in various types of litigation.

Mr. German has served as a mediator and as an arbitrator in Alternative Dispute Resolution proceedings. He is a certified graduate of the Minnesota ADR course and has acted as an advocate in ADR proceedings.

Machelle Engelstad

Machelle graduated from Fertile-Beltrami High School. She attended the University of Minnesota. Machelle has been working in the legal field for 15 plus years. She became a Minnesota Licensed Abstracter in 2003 and is also licensed in North Dakota as an Abstracter as of 2007. She works out of the Fertile Office and her primary responsibilities with the Raymond J. German Ltd Law Firm are in the areas of Probate and Real Estate.

Amanda Haugen

Amanda Haugen is originally from Walhalla, North Dakota. She graduated from the University of North Dakota in 2001. She began her work in the real estate industry as a receptionist at Greenberg Realty. She later worked with Grand Forks Abstract and Title until 2003. She started with Raymond J. German, Ltd. in 2003 to the present. Amanda works primarily in the real estate department assisting with closings, document preparation and courthouse searches. Amanda is a licensed North Dakota Abstracter (as of 2007).

Anna Kozel

Anna Kozel attended the University of Minnesota-Crookston, received her A.A.S. degree in Marketing and Management from Northland Community College, and earned her A.A.S. degree, with merit, from The Paralegal Institute. She has been a Civil Litigation Specialist since 2001, and a Certified Paralegal since 2004. Ms. Kozel is a member of the Greater Grand Forks County Bar Association, the Red River Valley Paralegal Association (Co-First Vice President, 2006-present), the Red River Valley Claims Association (President, 2002-2004), and the National Association of Legal Assistants since 2000.

Cheryl Horn

Cheryl is originally from Grand Forks, N.D. and graduated from Central High School in 1995. She has worked in the Title Insurance business since 2001. She originally started at Grand Forks Abstract and Title Company in April of 2001 and has worked with Raymond J. German, Ltd. since September of 2005. Cheryl works primarily in the title insurance department. She is a real estate closer and records searcher. Cheryl is married to Chris Horn, a realtor at Crary Homes and Real Estate. They have one son, Brady.

LaNei Chwialkowski

LaNei Chwialkowski is from Oslo, MN. She previously worked in the Title Insurance business at Grand Forks Abstract and Title Company. LaNei joined Raymond J. German in October of 2007 and works in the title insurance department and as a legal assistant. She is married to Peter Chwialkowski and they have two daughters, Rylee and Reese.

Janice Lamberson

Janice Lamberson is the Administrative Assistant for Raymond J. German Law Office, Fertile, MN. Janice has lived in the Fertile, MN area all her life. For the past 14 years she has worked as a teller/bookkeeper at the First State Bank of Fertile. She is married to David Lamberson for 32 years and has 5 daughters and 11 grandchildren.

Arlene German

Arlene German is a graduate of the University of North Dakota. She is a proofreader/analyst, bookkeeper, and office manager at the East Grand Forks office.
